Women Working for God (WWG) is an organization for women of St. Matthew Parish. This group exists to foster friendship and spiritual welfare among the women of the parish and to provide outreach and service to the parish and local community. The ladies of the WWG support various parish and community causes, including:

  • Annual Parish Picnic
  • St. Matthew Craft Shows
  • Lenten Fish Fry Desserts
  • Funeral Luncheons
  • Annual Parish Fundraiser
  • Scholarships to Catholic High School & (NEW!) Catholic Grade School
  • Support to Local Charities
  • Angel Giving Tree

Evening meetings are held in the Parish Hall at 6:30PM on the third Tuesday of the month from September through May.  The meeting schedule for 2025-2026 is below:

  • September 16 - Officer Induction Ceremony
  • October 21 - Speaker: Catherine Nicholson, author of Running in Borrowed Shoes: Thane Baker and the 1952 Summer Games shared a summary of her book. Her father, Thane Baker, was also in attendance to answer questions about his experience in the Olympic games. 
  • November 18 - Speaker: Lisa Wood, St Matthew's St Vincent de Paul Ministry President, shared the history and mission of the St Vincent de Paul Society as well as the impact of the local St Matthew's chapter.
  • December 6 - Annual Christmas Brunch. NO REGULAR MEETING. 
  • January 20 - Speaker: Laura Smith presented on The Spirituality of Encouragement: Becoming Women Who Lift Others Up and provided members with prayers for encouragement and peaceful meditation. 
  • February 17 - Speaker: Judy Mansisidor shared stories about her experience as a pro-life advocate and encouraged members to participate in the upcoming 40 Days for Life campaign.
  • March 17 - Speaker: Jane Erickson will be sharing: “My Grandma Wasn’t Really a Leprechaun and Other Cool Stuff I’ve Learned Along the Way”. Get ready for a fast, fun and informative look at how we can thrive as Christian women!
  • April 21 - No speaker. Voting for incoming Vice President and Secretary board positions.
  • May 19 - BUNCO Night. All are invited-- bring a friend!

Thank you to those who applied for WWG Catholic School Scholarships! We are excited for the opportunity to support Catholic education and will notify award recipients within a few weeks. 

 

March 27, 2026

Applications for the WWG Catholic High School Scholarship AND WWG Catholic Grade School Scholarship are now being accepted for students enrolled for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The deadline for all applications is Friday, May 29 at noon.
